Summary of Web 2.0

Overall, Web 2.0 was a good way to become familiar with the many different ways to use the Internet. Some of the tasks I found quite useful to me and others I did not. I think its a matter of personal taste and preference.

Craigslist

Wikipedia

By now we are have a basic idea of what Wikipedia is. A free encyclopedia with millions of articles contributed collaboratively using Wiki software, in dozens of languages. What I would like to discuss being a super Star Wars nerd is Wookiepedia. It functions basically the same way Wikipedia does, only its completely Star Wars related. It not only covers the films and television programs, but the expanded Star Wars Universe as well. Because Star Wars has such a huge fanbase and has held popularity for over 30 years now, there are many mediums in which the stories can take place. They cover films, tv shows, video games, role playing games, graphic novels and of course regular novels. A fun habit I have picked up while reading the novels is using Wookiepedia as I go. What I mean is, if I come across a new character and want to know what they look like, chances are there is an image in Wookiepedia. This holds true for planets, ships, weapons, its quite extensive. What fans do is upload images from a video game cover, graphic novels or role playing cards. I wanted to grab an image of Mara Jade, and expanded universe character.
